Mapping Project Idea

For this project I wanted to continue exploring the endless possibilities of animation styles that draw in a younger audience by investigating the environmental designs. Environment designs serves as the background layouts for these animated films in which they are incorporated to highlight and interact with the actions of these animated characters. Considering the idea of a mapping project representing an artistic interpretation of a map, I wanted to focus on the surroundings. I am looking to combine a diverse selection of background designs from different films and combine them into a larger map, almost a brochure for this animated world. By developing this, I am also going to utilize cutouts of different character designs to serve as an interactive piece in which the audience can move around these characters in different environments. I want to be able have these different styles interact with one another into this big plot of different landscapes and animated environments. By also having a range of different unique characters, they will be able be mixed around in different environments and see how well they fit in and interact within other spaces.
