In my research project, I am looking to investigate the visual appeal in animation. As technology and media only intend to further advance, animation is given a bigger platform for a much bigger audience. As a medium, animation serves as a powerful form of art as it presents a story through moving images. Yet it seems as if this form always tends to reach a more younger audience. So what is it about animation that keeps the youth intrigued? As a critical component of art, entertainment, and culture, they seem to engage with kids depicting deeper meaning and complex visual stories. Yet there are deeper components that attach these younger minds rather than the visual elements. Besides aspects of marketing, why do some animations appeal more than others?

I want to understand the amount of influence this medium has as they deliver messages that educate and entertain viewers at the same time. Another aspect of their popularity comes from the way they captivate imagination. How does this form of art twist reality? With this aspect how do they educate their younger audience while giving them this fake sense of fantasy that is far from the real world? These are some of the questions that I want to further explore within my research project. By understanding these aspects, I want to further tap into my imagination and be able to visually draw out stories from my mind. I aim to create visual stories that can entertain the younger audience, but to also educate them through twisting back and forth from fantasy to reality.
